Salmon fishing has been consistently fair for anglers fishing from Woodson Bridge to the Barge Hole. Locals are hopeful, that the action will improve greatly in October.
“There are good numbers of fish in places like the Barge Hole, but they just don’t want to bite,” related Mike Bogue Of Mike Bogue’s Guide Service. “We are getting fish and a lot of them are big beautiful fish that top out between 20 and 30 pounds. We have to work hard for every strike and whether those bites stick or not makes the difference between a very good day and an okay day.”
“I’m back trolling with large Flatfish wrapped with sardines. Pretty much my standard offering. I started out on the Barge Hole the last few days, but if it’s not happening there I start moving around and looking for aggressive fish,” added Bogue.
