Tahoe: Anglers Limit On Kokanee And Macks

“My wife Jamie and I just returned from a week of fishing at Tahoe,” reported Fish Sniffer reader Jayce McCormick of Citrus Heights. “The fishing at Tahoe was very good for both kokanee and mackinaw.”

“The kokanee schools were scattered at the south end of Tahoe and they were aggressive. Red Wedding Rings and Orange Uncle Larry’s Spinners teamed with rainbow Fish Eye Pro Dodgers worked well of us. I tipped the spinners with shoepeg corn soaked in anise,” said McCormick.

“The average kokanee was 12 to 13 inches long. When we tried for macks. We landed 14 fish to 5 pounds while using Gulp! Minnows behind 6 inch Fish Eye Dodgers from 100 to 175 feet deep,” McCormick concluded.
